About Giang Soda

Hi there! I am Hoang Giang Nguyen, also known as Giang Soda. I was born and grew up in Vietnam. After finishing year 10 in my home country, I decided to go to Melbourne, Australia with my older brother to continue my study. This decision was based on two main reasons. The first one is pretty obvious: education in Australia is much better than in Vietnam. The second reason is my passion for travel. This passion was first developed by my family vacations. Most of our trips in Vietnam were mainly to relax in resorts, and it felt great to have time to rest after a long year of studying. However, as a very energetic and curious kid, I wanted something more active than just relaxing. Then, my first trip abroad to the United States changed my whole idea of travel. It opened me up to the various things that the world has to offer. I had the chance to experience other cultures, meet people from around the world, try new food and just be myself. After that trip, travel has become my first priority in terms of the share of my budget and holidays/breaks. My purpose in travel has also changed significantly. I prefer discovering to relaxing, trekking to sleeping. I believe that the challenges of climbing mountains and crossing rivers are more achievable when I’m still young and healthy. Thus, I want to take this advantage to explore as many places as possible, so that later in life I will have something to look back and be proud of.
